According to Gabriel Abed, Ambassador of Barbados to the UAE, healthcare services are one of the key sectors for investment in emerging markets, as they will help to create an interactive environment to ensure worldwide public health.
Speaking to the Emirates News Agency (WAM), the diplomat cited the emergence of blockchain, which is attracting an increasing number of investors, stating that the world is witnessing a restructuring of the regulatory environment around modern technologies to ensure its sustainability and attract more investment opportunities.
“This is in addition to promising investments in financial markets that have begun to provide a new model for investors to invest through modern technologies,” he added.
Nardos Bekele-Thomas, CEO of the African Union Development Agency-NEPAD, said that innovative sectors boost economy’s competitiveness and contribute to the development of financial market mechanisms, such as facilitating financing, emphasizing on the importance of investing in the financial sector to boost innovation in Africa in particular.
The two-day conference closed in the UAE capital today.
